my convocation

I am finally a graduate.

After i returned to Singapore on the 23rd, I was supposed to have a phototaking session at home with my family on the 25th BUT i got bitten my an insect on MY EYELID! It was so swollen and red, i tot putting this particular cream wld make it better BUT it did not! In the end, there was only a trip to the doctor and no phototaking session.

(will upload horrible eye pics when i get them frm my dad)

Fortunately, the swelling had already gone down by 27th July-my convocation day. I wasnt excited about the day at all. My parents and grandparents seemed more excited than me.

I didnt take many pics. Most of them were of me and my family and that's good enough for me.

the rest is still unwritten

I returned to Singapore on 23 July from a 5 days trip to Hangzhou and Shanghai.

4 days were spent in Hangzhou where the choir competition, Orientale Concentus II was held and 1 day was spent shopping in Shanghai.

I have to say that although it was the most tiring and emotionally draining 5 days i have ever spent abroad, i had loads of fun with the Wild Empire people.

Day 1 (19 July): Shanghai/Hangzhou
My 5 stars hotel room, with a very nice bathroom (but no pics of the bathroom)
Beautiful, clean and green Hangzhou with many skyscrapers
Our daily 10 course meal with similar dishes

Day 2 (20 July): Hangzhou

This was the most tiring day. It was practice day. I woke up at 6.15am, showered, had breakfast, had my makeup done, had my roomie's make up done, and warmed up by 8.40am.

My roomie, Shijia and I

Day 3 (21 July): Hangzhou
Competition day!

I woke up at 5 plus, rushed like crazy doing all the things i did the day before, including hair styling this time and met the others at the lobby at 8am.

My choir, Wild Empire, got a Gold C which i am not one bit disappointed about. Im sure that we will work harder to achieve better in the future!

The Vocal Consort, which my choir and some nus people collaborated with, got a Gold A :)

Waiting to have our temperatures checked
Wild Empire during competition
Alto section!
Phototaking after prize presentation

After competition outing

Day 4 (22 July): Solar eclipse and Hangzhou tour

We watched the solar eclipse from our hotel breakfast area. The view was very good! Too bad my camera couldnt capture the niceness of the eclipse. I had to grab them from my friend.

We visited the famous Mei Jia Wu Village and got persuaded to buy some very expensive tea. I bought one bottle each for my dad and grandma.

We went walking around some garden and sat a boat ride around the West Lake.

At night, a few of us went to watch the Songcheng Show. I guess it was supposed to be some dance/acrobat show about the history of Hangzhou but turned out to be some multi-cultural themed show. Although the plot was lacking, the lighting, water effects and props were superb!
Beautiful backgrounds!
Sexy dancers
Real horses
Waterfall and real rain!

After the show, we went on to explore the Songcheng city and ended up at "Weird Street".
We look bigger sitting on the left. Optical illusion due to some perception glass (or smth)

Day 5 (23 July): Hangzhou/Shanghai

We spent a few hours in Shanghai at the "Old Shanghai Street". That's where i did most of my shopping for souvenirs and tried the infamous "smelly tofu".
It was time to leave Shanghai and China. I was damn tired but i watched 2 movies in the plane and slept for only 15mins! The rest of the time was spent disturbing my friends and drinking Baileys haha.

I would like to thank those ppl whom i had grabbed photos from. I hope u all dont mind :) To Kevin, Darryl, Juat, Xuelian, M Chong, Fangqi. THANKIEW :)

The greatest entertainer of all time

Death is unavoidable but at times, comes too soon..

I am deeply saddened by the death of Michael Jackson.

While watching the MJ memorial last night on tv, i couldnt help but cry. There is no doubting the impact he has on the world. From his voice, to his dancing, to his weird antics, he captured all of us.

I remember listening to his songs on Class 95fm when i was young. Although years have passed since his heyday, everytime i hear his music, i feel like im hearing it for the first time. His soulful voice, meaningful songs, energetic dancing are all unrivalled.

There will never be another entertainer as good as Michael Jackson. Im just thankful that i was able to witness his magic while he was alive.

refreshing rain

this week was exceptionally fun

swimming and suntanning with stef
bonding under the temperamental sun

steamboat and timbre with secondary sch friends
so-so food, good music, great company!

bowling and swimming with dad
my dad loves the jacuzzi pool!

well, if u think that i wldve gotten darker from all that swimming and suntanning, u'll b disappointed. apparently, while some others have stubborn hair that refuse to curl, i have stubborn skin that refuse to get darker. seems like my snow white days will last a little longer.

now ive to study for my advanced theory test which is on tues. i hope i wont fail!
